Senior Family Worker

Quakers Hill Family Centre

  • Maternity Position 12 months
  • (Possible extension)
  • FULL TIME

A programme of Wesley Family Services which provides a range of innovative services to families with children 0 – 16 years through family support, casework and group activities with a focus on early intervention and prevention.


Essential:

  • Relevant qualifications - Community Welfare/Social Work or other relevant qualifications (TAFE and/or Tertiary)
  • Significant experience in family support – working with children, young people and families
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) 
  • Knowledge of and commitment to a strengths based / solution focussed practice
  • Working knowledge of Domestic Violence, Child Protection, addiction issues, grief and loss and multicultural issues
  • Understanding of childhood development and parenting issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability in time management
  • Supervisory/Leadership Skills
  • Group work skills
  • Current NSW driving license
  • Computer literacy

Desirable:

  • Community development skills
  • Understanding of local issues

This position is funded through both the Department of Community Services Grants Programme (CSGP) and Wesley Mission

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the SACS Award (Grade 4 Year 4), generous salary packaging + car.

Family Community Worker

Riverstone Families Connect

A programme of Wesley Family Services which enhances the community capacity building work of Riverstone Families Connect through family support, group work and generalist community work activities for families with children 0 – 8 years.

  • Contract Position end June 30 2011
  • 3 days per week

Regional Manager

With established offices in Lismore, Port Macquarie, Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong / ACT and strong partnerships interstate Wesley Vocational Institute is seeking to employ two full time Regional Managers to support the growth of the business.

One role will support operations from the Hunter to Northern NSW, while the second role will support Sydney and Southern NSW.

To be succeed in this role you must have extensive management experience in the education and training sector, excellent communication skills, demonstrated business acumen and the ability to inspire and motivate your team to meet organisational and financial targets.

Wesley Counselling Support Services, Newcastle/Wyong Office is seeking an experienced Admin Assistant for our diverse counselling service located at our Newcastle and Wyong Office.

Essential Criteria:

  • Highly developed organisational skills;
  • Have demonstrated experience in working in a busy administration office with non routine workflows;

Administrative Assistant

Wesley Community Support Services

  • 38 Hours

We are seeking to employ an Administrative Assistant to join a fun and welcoming team in our Miranda office in the Sutherland Shire providing Community Aged Care Packages (CACP) and Extended Aged Care at Home (EACH) packages to frail aged people in the community as well as a HACC funded In Home Respite and NRCP program.


The successful applicant will be responsible for the overall administrative duties of the office including invoicing, petty cash clearing and accounts payable.

Essential Criteria:

  • Highly developed organisational skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Be self motivated with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Excellent working knowledge of MYOB;
  • Excellent computer skills (Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2000,
  • Excel, Internet and e-mail).
  • NSW Drivers licence

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge in Aged Care and Home and Community Care.
  • Knowledge of Peoplesoft

Regional Coordinator (Training)

Wesley Vocational Institute

Hunter / Taree Region

As a leading provider of Human Services Training throughout NSW Wesley Vocational Institute is seeking a Coordinator for our Hunter / Taree  Region.


This exciting and diverse role will require the successful applicant to coordinate and market accredited training to internal and external customers.

The role needs an enthusiastic team member to discuss opportunities, liaise with trainers and  ensure quality training is delivered in an efficient and effective manner.

This role will also specialise in the development and delivery of training services and may require delivery of training modules to staff or clients.

Because this role requires the successful applicant to develop relationships and travel throughout the region, a restricted use pool car will be provided which can also be used for travel to and from work.
