Wesley International Congregation

9.30am & 12 Noon Sunday, Wesley Theatre

The Wesley International Congregation (WIC) is a multicultural, family-friendly church with a great passion for evangelism and discipleship. Dr. Barry Chant leads this congregation of about 800 people. They come from more than 40 different nationalities, with a strong component from East Asian countries. WIC is a growing congregation that continues to score highly on the “Natural Church Development” scale for healthy, active churches.

Its two main worship services are conducted in English and take place in the 900 seat Wesley Theatre at Wesley Centre.  You are invited to come as you are for an inspiring worship experience at 9:30am and (from Sun 25th Feb 2007) at 12 noon for the new “Pulse - Heart of the City” service. “Pulse” is a contemporary, energetic, casual service aimed at sharing the good news of Christ with city dwellers.

Many in WIC enjoy connecting with and supporting one another in LIFE (small) Groups that are held in homes around the suburbs of Sydney as well as in the city. In addition, there are large and small group gatherings for high school (DIGJC) and university students (Blue Sky) and young adults (Club Oasis). There is also an engaging Sunday School program for children (Kingdom Kids) on Sunday mornings.

WIC’s Mission is “To step out in faith and love to make disciples of Christ from people of all nations through Spirit, Word and deed.”  So, there is an evident passion for seeing missionaries raised up and sent overseas to impact lives with the love and the message of Christ.

This vibrant congregation is now the largest Uniting Church Congregation in New South Wales. It embraces Jesus’ command to make disciples (Matt 28:19), reaching many hundreds of people weekly, not only in the city of Sydney but beyond.
